In questa maniera i Deep Purple nel 1972 mettevano in musica l’episodio, realmente accaduto pochi mesi prima, da cui presero spunto per la celeberrima Smoke on the Water. In quello stesso 1972 si esibirono a Montreux, località svizzera nota per il suo festival di jazz, il terzetto composto dal batterista Bernard Lubat (già con Michel Portal), il tastierista Eddy Louiss (già con Michel Petrucciani) e il chitarrista Claude Engel (fondatore dei Magma). La splendida registrazione di quel concerto, un jazz-rock spruzzato di funky è purtroppo l’unica prova documentata del trio francese: un vero peccato.
